The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No man or woman swears a sinful oath at this pulpit of mine, even over a fresh tooth-stick, except that the Fire becomes due for them."
حدثنا محمد بن يحيى وزيد بن أخزم قالا حدثنا الضحاك بن مخلد حدثنا الحسن بن يزيد بن فروخ قال محمد بن يحيى وهو أبو يونس القوي قال سمعت أبا سلمة يقول سمعت
قال رسول الله ﷺ لا يحلف عند هذا المنبر عبد ولا أمة على يمين آثمة ولو على سواك رطب إلا وجبت له النار
[Its isnad is sahih] Ahmad narrated it: 2/329, 518, from Dahhak with this wording. Busiri graded it sahih, as did Munziri in Targheeb wa Tarheeb: 2/625, and Hakim: 4/297, according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim). Dhahabi said, "Sahih."
