The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever swears a sinful oath at this pulpit of mine, let him take his seat in the Fire, even if it be over a green twig."
حدثنا عمرو بن رافع حدثنا مروان بن معاوية ح و حدثنا أحمد بن ثابت الجحدري حدثنا صفوان بن عيسى قالا حدثنا هاشم بن هاشم عن عبد الله بن نسطاس
قال رسول الله ﷺ من حلف بيمين آثمة عند منبري هذا فليتبوأ مقعده من النار ولو على سواك أخضر
Its isnad is sahih. Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Oaths and Vows, chapter on what has been said regarding the gravity of swearing an oath at the pulpit of the Prophet, hadith 3246, from the hadith of Hashim with this wording. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (Mawarid), hadith 1192, as did Ibn Jarud, hadith 927, and Hakim, 4/296, 197, and Dhahabi. It has many corroborating narrations.
