Someone said to the Prophet ﷺ, "You were my partner during the days of ignorance, and you were the best of partners. You neither deceived me nor disputed with me."
[Its chain of transmission is daif] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Manners, Chapter on the Dislike of Disputation, hadith 4836, from the hadith of Sufyan Thawri, through this route. Mujahid did not hear it from Saaib , rather he heard it from Qaid, and I have not found a biography for Qaid, and he is the flaw in the report.
