I was with the Prophet ﷺ when an Arabi said, "Pay me back my young camel."So he gave him an older camel.The Arabi said, "Messenger of Allah, this one is older than my camel."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "The best of people are those who are best in repaying their debts."
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا زيد بن الحباب حدثنا معاوية بن صالح حدثني سعيد بن هانئ قال سمعت
كنت عند النبي ﷺ فقال أعرابي اقضني بكري فأعطاه بعيرا مسنا فقال الأعرابي يا رسول الله هذا أسن من بعيري فقال رسول الله ﷺ خير الناس خيرهم قضاء
[Sahih] Nasai narrated it: 2917, 292, Buyu (Sales) - Borrowing and lending animals, hadith: 4623, from the hadith of Muawiya, at length. Hakim graded it sahih: 2/30, and Dhahabi concurred with him. Its isnad is hasan, and it has corroborating narrations in Bukhari: 3/130, hadith: 2305, and elsewhere.
