The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever buys food should not sell it until he has taken full possession of it."
حدثنا سويد بن سعيد حدثنا مالك بن أنس عن نافع
أن النبي ﷺ قال من ابتاع طعاما فلا يبعه حتى يستوفيه
Bukhari transmitted it in the Book of Business Transactions, Chapter on Measuring Falling upon the Seller and the Giver, no. 2126, 2136, and Muslim transmitted it in the Book of Business Transactions, Chapter on the Invalidity of Selling a Purchased Item before Taking Possession of It, no. 1526, from the hadith of Malik, and it is found in the Muwatta (Yahya's version) 2/640.
