I sold a pair of trousers to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ before the Hijrah. He weighed out the payment for me and gave me extra.
حدثنا محمد بن بشار ومحمد بن الوليد قالا حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن سماك بن حرب قال سمعت مالكا
بعت من رسول الله ﷺ رجل سراويل قبل الهجرة فوزن لي فأرجح لي
Takhrij, its isnad is sahih. Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Business Transactions, the previous chapter, hadith no. 3337, from the hadith of Shuba with the same wording. Hakim graded it sahih (2/30, 31) according to the standard of Muslim, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
