The Prophet ﷺ forbade selling fruit before its ripeness becomes apparent.
حدثنا هشام بن عمار حدثنا سفيان عن ابن جريج عن عطاء
أن النبي ﷺ نهى عن بيع الثمر حتى يبدو صلاحه
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Sales, chapter on selling fruit still on the palm trees for gold or silver, hadith no. 2189, from the hadith of Ibn Jurayj through this same chain, at greater length.
