She used to say, "Has a woman no shame, offering herself to the Prophet ﷺ?" Then Allah revealed, "You may defer whom you will of them and take to yourself whom you will" [Ahzab 33:51].She said, "I told him, 'It seems your Lord hastens to fulfill your desires.'"
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا عبدة بن سليمان عن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه
أنها كانت تقول أما تستحي المرأة أن تهب نفسها للنبي ﷺ حتى أنزل الله {ترجي من تشاء منهن وتؤوي إليك من تشاء} قالت فقلت إن ربك ليسارع في هواك
Reference. Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Nikah, chapter "May a woman give herself to someone?", hadith no. 5113, from the hadith of Hisham, through this route. Muslim narrated it in the Book of Rida, chapter on the permissibility of a woman giving up her turn to her co-wife, hadith no. 1464, from Ibn Abu Shayba, through this route, from the hadith of Hisham, through this route. Bukhari also mentioned it as a suspended report via the route of Abda.
