The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not strike the female servants of Allah."Then Umar came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, the women have grown bold against their husbands."So he permitted that they be struck, and they were struck. That night many women came around the household of Muhammad ﷺ complaining about their husbands. In the morning he said, "Tonight seventy women have circled around the household of Muhammad, every one of them complaining about her husband. You will not find those men to be the best among you."
أخبرنا محمد بن الصباح أنبأنا سفيان بن عيينة عن الزهري عن عبد الله بن عبد الله بن عمر
قال النبي ﷺ لا تضربن إماء الله فجاء عمر إلى النبي ﷺ فقال يا رسول الله قد ذئر النساء على أزواجهن فأمر بضربهن فضربن فطاف بآل محمد ﷺ طائف نساء كثير فلما أصبح قال لقد طاف الليلة بآل محمد سبعون امرأة كل امرأة تشتكي زوجها فلا تجدون أولئك خياركم
