Abdullah bin Umar reported,

It is reported from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that Rubai said, "Salim read to me a document that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had written concerning the obligatory charity before Allah took him in death. I found in it that for forty sheep, one sheep is due, up to one hundred and twenty. If the number exceeds that by one, then two sheep are due, up to two hundred. If it exceeds that by one, then three sheep are due, up to three hundred. Beyond that, for every hundred, one sheep is due. I also found in it that what is separate must not be combined, nor what is combined separated. And I found in it that for charity, no male goat, aged animal, or defective animal is to be taken."

عن رسول الله ﷺ قال أقرأني سالم كتابا كتبه رسول الله ﷺ في الصدقات قبل أن يتوفاه الله عز وجل فوجدت فيه في أربعين شاة شاة إلى عشرين ومائة فإذا زادت واحدة ففيها شاتان إلى مائتين فإن زادت واحدة ففيها ثلاث شياه إلى ثلاث مائة فإذا كثرت ففي كل مائة شاة ووجدت فيه لا يجمع بين متفرق ولا يفرق بين مجتمع ووجدت فيه لا يؤخذ في الصدقة تيس ولا هرمة ولا ذات عوار
