The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me to Yemen and instructed me to take, as zakat on cattle, one musinnah for every forty head and one tabi or tabiah for every thirty.
حدثنا محمد بن عبد الله بن نمير حدثنا يحيى بن عيسى الرملي حدثنا الأعمش عن شقيق عن مسروق
بعثني رسول الله ﷺ إلى اليمن وأمرني أن آخذ من البقر من كل أربعين مسنة ومن كل ثلاثين تبيعا أو تبيعة
[Its chain is daif]. Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Zakat, chapter, "On the Zakat of Grazing Livestock," H: 1578, from the hadith of Amash, with this wording. Tirmidhi graded it hasan, H: 623, and Ibn Khuzayma, Ibn Hibban, Hakim, Dhahabi, and others graded it sahih.
