Whenever a man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with the charity from his wealth, he would invoke blessings upon him. So I came to him with the charity from my wealth, and he said, "O Allah, send blessings upon the family of Abu Awfa."
حدثنا علي بن محمد حدثنا وكيع عن شعبة عن عمرو بن مرة قال سمعت
كان رسول الله ﷺ إذا أتاه الرجل بصدقة ماله صلى عليه فأتيته بصدقة مالي فقال اللهم صل على آل أبي أوفى
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Zakat, chapter "The Imam's Prayer and His Supplication for the Giver of Charity, etc.," hadith no. 1497, and others, from the hadith of Shubah, with this wording. Muslim narrated it in the Book of Zakat, chapter "Supplication for One Who Brings Charity," hadith no. 1078, from the hadith of Waki, with this wording.
