I would enter the house only for some need, and even when there was a sick person inside, I would only ask about him as I passed by. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would not enter the house except for a need when they were in itikaf.
حدثنا محمد بن رمح أنبأنا الليث بن سعد عن ابن شهاب عن عروة بن الزبير وعمرة بنت عبد الرحمن أن
إن كنت لأدخل البيت للحاجة والمريض فيه فما أسأل عنه إلا وأنا مارة قالت وكان رسول الله ﷺ لا يدخل البيت إلا لحاجة إذا كانوا معتكفين
Bukhari narrated it in the chapter on itikaf, section, "One should not enter the house except for a need," hadith 2029, from the hadith of Layth through the same chain, and Muslim narrated it in the chapter on menstruation, section on the permissibility of a menstruating woman washing her husband's head and combing his hair, and the purity of what remains from her, and so on, hadith 297, from Muhammad bin Rumh and others through the same chain.
