The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Everything has its zakat, and the zakat of the body is fasting."Muhriz added in his version that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Fasting is half of patience."

[Its chain of transmission is daif] Ibn Abu Shayba: 7/3 narrated it from Ibn Mubarak with this chain. Busiri graded it daif. See hadith 251 for its defect, and it has another defect besides. The hadith has other routes, none of which is sound.
