The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was at Jiranah distributing gold and spoils of war, with the gold gathered in Bilal's lap, when a man said, "Be fair, Muhammad, for you have not been fair."The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Woe to you! Who would be fair after me if I am not fair?"Umar said, "Let me, Messenger of Allah, strike off this hypocrite's neck."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "This man has companions, or little companions, who recite the Quran but it does not pass beyond their throats. They will pass through the religion as an arrow passes through its target."
حدثنا محمد بن الصباح أنبأنا سفيان بن عيينة عن أبي الزبير
كان رسول الله ﷺ بالجعرانة وهو يقسم التبر والغنائم وهو في حجر بلال فقال رجل اعدل يا محمد فإنك لم تعدل فقال ويلك ومن يعدل بعدي إذا لم أعدل فقال عمر دعني يا رسول الله حتى أضرب عنق هذا المنافق فقال رسول الله ﷺ إن هذا في أصحاب أو أصيحاب له يقرءون القرآن لا يجاوز تراقيهم يمرقون من الدين كما يمرق السهم من الرمية
