A nephew of his was sitting beside him and flicked a pebble between his fingers. He rebuked him and said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade this. He said it does not catch game nor wound an enemy, but it breaks teeth and puts out eyes."Then his nephew did it again. He said, "I tell you that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade this, and then you go back and do it again? I will never speak to you again."

أنه كان جالسا إلى جنبه ابن أخ له فخذف فنهاه وقال إن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عنها فقال إنها لا تصيد صيدا ولا تنكي عدوا وإنها تكسر السن وتفقأ العين قال فعاد ابن أخيه فخذف فقال أحدثك أن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عنها ثم عدت تخذف لا أكلمك أبدا
