[Its isnad is daif] Kathir Awfi, daif, those who attributed lying to him went too far (Taqrib*), and his being branded a liar is not established either from Shafii or from Abu Dawud, due to the unknown status of Ajri, and the hadith of Muslim, no. 2605, makes his hadith unnecessary.
