The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not insult my companions. By the One in whose hand my soul rests, if one of you were to spend gold equal to Mount Uhud, it would not equal a handful given by one of them, nor even half of it."
حدثنا محمد بن الصباح حدثنا جرير ح و حدثنا علي بن محمد حدثنا وكيع ح و حدثنا أبو كريب قال حدثنا أبو معاوية جميعا عن الأعمش عن أبي صالح
قال رسول الله ﷺ لا تسبوا أصحابي فوالذي نفسي بيده لو أن أحدكم أنفق مثل أحد ذهبا ما أدرك مد أحدهم ولا نصيفه
Bukhari reported it in "Merits of the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ," chapter, hadith: 3673, and Muslim in "Merits of the Companions," chapter on the prohibition of reviling the Companions , hadith: 2540, from the hadith of Amash with this wording. The original and Sahih Muslim have it from Abu Hurairah
, but the correct version is from Abu Saeed, as found in Sahih Bukhari and elsewhere.
