A poet praised Bilal bin Abdullah, saying, "Bilal bin Abdullah is the best of Bilals."Ibn Umar said, "You have lied. Rather, Bilal of the Messenger of Allah is the best of Bilals."
حدثنا علي بن محمد حدثنا أبو أسامة عن عمر بن حمزة
أن شاعرا مدح بلال بن عبد الله فقال بلال بن عبد الله خير بلال فقال ابن عمر كذبت لا بل بلال رسول الله خير بلال
Its isnad is daif. Abdullah bin Ahmad narrated it in his Zawaid, 2/90, from the hadith of Abu Usama with this chain (see Atraf Musnad, 3/365). Umar bin Hamza is truthful, but his narrations are not relied upon except in Sahih Muslim.
