The Messenger of Allah ﷺ kissed Uthman bin Mazun after he had died, and it is as if I can still see his tears flowing down his cheeks.
[Its chain is daif]. Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Funerals, Chapter on Kissing the Deceased, hadith 3163, from the hadith of Sufyan, with this wording, and Tirmidhi graded it sahih, hadith 989, as did Hakim. Asim is daif, as mentioned before, hadith 907. It has a corroborating witness with Bazzar (Mukhtasar Zawaid Bazzar, hadith 549) from Umari, from Asim bin Ubaydullah, from Abdullah bin Amir bin Rabia, from his father, with this wording, and so on. Ibn Hajar said, its chain is weak.
