The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When you are present at the death of one of your own, close the eyes, for the sight follows the soul. And speak only what is good, for the angels say amen to whatever the family says."
حدثنا أبو داود سليمان بن توبة حدثنا عاصم بن علي حدثنا قزعة بن سويد عن حميد الأعرج عن الزهري عن محمود بن لبيد
قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا حضرتم موتاكم فأغمضوا البصر فإن البصر يتبع الروح وقولوا خيرا فإن الملائكة تؤمن على ما قال أهل البيت
Its isnad is daif. Ahmad narrated it (4/125) from the hadith of Qazaah with this wording. Hakim graded it sahih (1/352), as did Dhahabi, while Busiri graded it hasan. The preceding hadith makes it unnecessary.Qazaah bin Suwayd is daif, graded daif by the majority.
