I said, "Messenger of Allah, tell me of a deed I can hold fast to and practice."He replied, "Hold fast to prostration, for you do not perform a single prostration to Allah without Allah raising you a degree by it and erasing a sin from your record by it."

قلت يا رسول الله أخبرني بعمل أستقيم عليه وأعمله قال عليك بالسجود فإنك لا تسجد لله سجدة إلا رفعك الله بها درجة وحط بها عنك خطيئة
[Sahih] Reported by Tabarani in al-Kabir, 22/321, 322, no. 809, from the hadith of Baqiyyah, from Abdul-Rahman bin Thabit bin Thawban, in full.Makhul was followed by Harith bin Yazid Hadrami as reported by Tabarani. The hadith has other routes, among them what Tabarani reported from the hadith of Abu Abdul-Rahman Hubli, from Abu Fatimah. Munziri said that Ibn Majah reported it with a good chain. The hadith has corroborating narrations, see the following hadith. Nasai reported it, no. 4172, through another route from Kathir bin Mura, and its chain is sahih.
