The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah listens more attentively to a man with a beautiful voice reciting the Quran aloud than the owner of a singing slave-girl listens to his singer."
حدثنا راشد بن سعيد بن راشد الرملي حدثنا الوليد بن مسلم حدثنا الأوزاعي حدثنا إسمعيل بن عبيد الله عن ميسرة مولى فضالة
قال رسول الله ﷺ لله أشد أذنا إلى الرجل الحسن الصوت بالقرآن يجهر به من صاحب القينة إلى قينته
Takhrij - Its chain is daif. Ahmad narrated it (6/19, 20) through Walid's report with this wording. Ibn Habban graded it sahih in Mawarid, no. 659, and so did Hakim, but Dhahabi challenged him, saying, "Rather, it is disconnected." Walid did not explicitly state that he heard it directly, as was noted earlier regarding the continuous chain, no. 255. He was contradicted by the mountain, Walid bin Mazid, who narrated it from Uzai, from Ismail, from Fadala, with this wording, in disconnected form, and this is the correct version. Busiri graded the chain hasan.
