The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Two festivals have come together on this day of yours. Whoever wishes, it suffices him for the Friday prayer, but we will gather for it, Allah willing."Muhammad bin Yahya narrated to us, Yazid bin Abd Rabbih narrated to us, Baqiyyah narrated to us, Shuba narrated to us, Mughirah ad-Dabbi narrated to me, from Abdul-Aziz bin Rafi, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet ﷺ, something similar.
[Its chain of transmission is daif] Abu Dawud transmitted it in the Book of Prayer, the previous chapter, no. 1073, from Muhammad bin Musaffa and others, with this wording, and Hakim and Dhahabi graded it sahih. Busiri said, "This chain is sahih, its narrators are trustworthy." Mughira was mentioned shortly before, no. 1302, and Baqiyyah, nos. 551, 1129, did not explicitly state hearing it in the consecutive chain, but the preceding hadith makes it unnecessary.
