I am the first among the Arabs to shoot an arrow in the path of Allah.

Bukhari narrated it in the Book of the Virtues of the Companions, chapter on the merits of Saad bin Abu Waqqas Zuhri, hadith no. 3728, and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Asceticism, chapter on the world being a prison for the believer and a paradise for the disbeliever, hadith no. 2966, from the hadith of Ismail through this same chain.
