I bear witness that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed before the sermon, then delivered the sermon. Realizing that the women had not heard him, he went over to them, reminded them, exhorted them, and instructed them to give charity, while Bilal held out his hands like this. The women began tossing in their earrings, rings, and whatever else they had.
حدثنا محمد بن الصباح أنبأنا سفيان بن عيينة عن أيوب عن عطاء قال سمعت
أشهد على رسول الله ﷺ أنه صلى قبل الخطبة ثم خطب فرأى أنه لم يسمع النساء فأتاهن فذكرهن ووعظهن وأمرهن بالصدقة وبلال قائل بيديه هكذا فجعلت المرأة تلقي الخرص والخاتم والشيء
