Sometimes I would recall the poet's verse while gazing at the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the pulpit, and before he came down, every drainpipe in Medina was gushing with rain. So I would remember the poet's words, "A man whose face brings rain from the clouds, sustenance for orphans, protection for widows." This is the verse of Ubayy Talib.

ربما ذكرت قول الشاعر وأنا أنظر إلى وجه رسول الله ﷺ على المنبر فما نزل حتى جيش كل ميزاب بالمدينة فأذكر قول الشاعر وأبيض يستسقى الغمام بوجهه ثمال اليتامى عصمة للأرامل وهو قول أبي طالب
Graded hasan. Bukhari transmitted it in the Book of Rain Prayer, chapter on the people asking the leader for the rain prayer when they suffer drought, hadith no. 1009, as a suspended narration. Umar has been criticized by some, but his hadiths in the Sahihayn are preserved, and his hadith has a supporting narration in Bukhari, no. 1008, and elsewhere.
