Abu Hurairah reported,

The Prophet ﷺ ordered the killing of the two black creatures during prayer, the scorpion and the snake.

[Its chain of transmission is sahih] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Prayer, the chapter on actions during prayer, no. 921, from the hadith of Yahya, with this wording. Tirmidhi graded it sahih, no. 390, as did Ibn Khuzayma, Ibn Hibban, Hakim, and Dhahabi.
