The Prophet of Allah ﷺ would not raise his hands in any of his supplications except during the prayer for rain, when he would raise them so high that the whiteness of his armpits could be seen.
Bukhari transmitted it in the Book of Virtues, chapter on the description of the Prophet, no: 3565, from the hadith of Yazid bin Zuray, and no: 1031. Muslim also transmitted it in the Book of the Prayer for Rain, chapter on raising the hands in supplication during the prayer for rain, no: 896, from the hadith of Saeed bin Abu Aruba, with the same wording.
