Umm Salama bint Abu Umaya reported,

Umm Salamah reported that while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was performing ablution in my house for the noon prayer, having sent out a tax collector, the emigrants had gathered around him in great numbers and their situation weighed heavily upon him. Just then someone knocked at the door, so he went out to him, prayed the noon prayer, and then sat distributing what the collector had brought.She said, he continued in this manner until the time of the afternoon prayer. Then he entered my house and prayed two units of prayer.He then said, "The matter of the tax collector kept me from praying these two units after the noon prayer, so I have prayed them after the afternoon prayer."

حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا عبد الله بن إدريس عن يزيد بن أبي زياد عن عبد الله بن الحارث قال أرسل معاوية إلى أم سلمة فانطلقت مع الرسول فسأل

أم سلمة فقالت

إن رسول الله ﷺ بينما هو يتوضأ في بيتي للظهر وكان قد بعث ساعيا وكثر عنده المهاجرون وقد أهمه شأنهم إذ ضرب الباب فخرج إليه فصلى الظهر ثم جلس يقسم ما جاء به قالت فلم يزل كذلك حتى العصر ثم دخل منزلي فصلى ركعتين ثم قال شغلني أمر الساعي أن أصليهما بعد الظهر فصليتهما بعد العصر
