When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon during war, he would deliver it leaning on a bow, and when he delivered the Friday sermon, he would deliver it leaning on a staff.
حدثنا هشام بن عمار حدثنا
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان إذا خطب في الحرب خطب على قوس وإذا خطب في الجمعة خطب على عصا

Its chain is daif. Bayhaqi related it, 3/206, from the hadith of Hisham bin Ammar with this wording. See Bukhari 1101 for its defect. Busiri said, "This chain is daif."
