The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The best of the men's rows is the first, and the worst is the last. The best of the women's rows is the last, and the worst is the first."
حدثنا علي بن محمد حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن عبد الله بن محمد بن عقيل
قال رسول الله ﷺ خير صفوف الرجال مقدمها وشرها مؤخرها وخير صفوف النساء مؤخرها وشرها مقدمها
[Hasan]. Ahmad narrated it in 3/331 from the hadith of Sufyan Thawri, with a similar account, and Zaida also narrated it there in 3/293, 387. Ibn Aqeel is daif, as mentioned earlier at 390. Busiri said, "This chain is hasan." The hadith has corroborating narrations in Muslim (440) and elsewhere.
