I heard him say that the Prophet ﷺ stood on the day of Fitr and prayed. He began with the prayer, then delivered the sermon. When he finished, he came down and went over to the women and reminded them, leaning on Bilal's hand, while Bilal had spread out his garment into which the women were tossing charity.I asked Ata, "Was this the zakat of the day of Fitr?"He replied, "No, but it was charity that they were giving at that moment. A woman would toss in her ring, and others would toss in theirs."I asked, "Do you consider this an obligation upon the imam, that he remind them?"He said, "It is indeed a duty upon them, and what is the matter with them that they do not do it?"
