A man asked the Prophet ﷺ about a lost item he had found. He replied, "Recognize its tying cord," or he said, "its container and its covering, then announce it for a year. After that, you may make use of it. If its owner comes, hand it over to him."The man asked, "What about a stray camel?"The Prophet ﷺ became angry until his cheeks turned red, or he said, his face turned red, and he said, "What business do you have with it? It has its water supply and its hooves. It can reach water and graze on trees. Leave it alone until its owner finds it."The man asked, "What about a stray sheep?"He replied, "It is for you, or for your brother, or for the wolf."
