The people used to come to the Friday prayer from their homes and from the outlying districts, arriving covered in dust. The dust would mix with their sweat, and a strong odor would rise from them. One such person came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was at my house, and the Prophet ﷺ said, "If only you would purify yourselves for this day of yours."

كان الناس ينتابون يوم الجمعة من منازلهم والعوالي فيأتون في الغبار يصيبهم الغبار والعرق فيخرج منهم العرق فأتى رسول الله ﷺ إنسان منهم وهو عندي فقال النبي ﷺ لو أنكم تطهرتم ليومكم هذا
