Zayd bin Haritha came complaining, and the Prophet ﷺ kept saying to him, "Fear Allah and keep your wife." Anas said, "Had the Messenger of Allah ﷺ been one to conceal anything, he would have concealed this verse."He continued, Zaynab used to boast over the other wives of the Prophet ﷺ, saying, "Your families gave you in marriage, but Allah Almighty gave me in marriage from above the seven heavens."Thabit reported regarding the verse "And you concealed within yourself that which Allah was to disclose, and you feared the people" [Ahzab 33:37], that it was revealed concerning the affair of Zaynab and Zayd bin Haritha.

جاء زيد بن حارثة يشكو فجعل النبي ﷺ يقول اتق الله وأمسك عليك زوجك قال أنس لو كان رسول الله ﷺ كاتما شيئا لكتم هذه قال فكانت زينب تفخر على أزواج النبي ﷺ تقول زوجكن أهاليكن وزوجني الله تعالى من فوق سبع سموات وعن ثابت {وتخفي في نفسك ما الله مبديه وتخشى الناس} نزلت في شأن زينب وزيد بن حارثة
