Ayesha reported,

A woman asked the Prophet ﷺ. (Another chain) Muhammad, who is Ibn Uqba, narrated to us, saying Fudayl bin Sulayman al-Numayri al-Basri narrated to us, saying Mansur bin Abdul-Rahman bin Shayba narrated to us, saying my mother narrated to me from Ayesha that a woman asked the Prophet ﷺ about menstruation and how she should perform the purificatory bath afterward.He said, "Take a piece of cloth scented with musk and purify yourself with it."She asked, "How shall I purify myself with it, Messenger of Allah?"The Prophet ﷺ said, "Purify yourself."She asked again, "How shall I purify myself with it, Messenger of Allah?"The Prophet ﷺ said, "Purify yourself with it."Ayesha said, "Then I understood what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ meant, so I pulled her toward me and taught her."

أن امرأة سألت النبي ﷺ ح و حدثنا محمد هو ابن عقبة حدثنا الفضيل بن سليمان النميري البصري حدثنا منصور بن عبد الرحمن ابن شيبة حدثتني أمي عن عائشة رضي الله عنها أن امرأة سألت النبي ﷺ عن الحيض كيف تغتسل منه قال تأخذين فرصة ممسكة فتوضئين بها قالت كيف أتوضأ بها يا رسول الله قال النبي ﷺ توضئي قالت كيف أتوضأ بها يا رسول الله قال النبي ﷺ توضئين بها قالت عائشة فعرفت الذي يريد رسول الله ﷺ فجذبتها إلي فعلمتها
