Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

A woman came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "My mother vowed to perform Hajj but died before she could do so. Should I perform Hajj on her behalf?"He replied, "Yes, perform Hajj on her behalf. Tell me, if your mother had owed a debt, would you have paid it?"She said, "Yes."He said, "Then pay what is owed to Allah, for Allah has the greater right to be fulfilled."
