While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, a bedouin stood up and said, "Messenger of Allah, judge between us according to the Book of Allah."His opponent then stood up and said, "He has spoken the truth, Messenger of Allah. Judge between us according to the Book of Allah, and grant me permission to speak."The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Speak."He said, "My son was a hired worker for this man, and he committed adultery with his wife. People told me that my son was to be stoned, so I paid a ransom of one hundred sheep and a slave girl on his behalf. Then I asked the people of knowledge, and they informed me that his wife was the one to be stoned, and that my son was only to receive one hundred lashes and to be banished for a year."The Prophet ﷺ said, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, I will judge between you according to the Book of Allah. As for the slave girl and the sheep, they are to be returned to you. As for your son, he is to receive one hundred lashes and be banished for a year. And as for you, Unays," addressing a man from Aslam, "go tomorrow morning to this man's wife, and if she confesses, then stone her."Unays went to her the next morning, she confessed, and he stoned her.
و حدثنا أبو اليمان أخبرنا شعيب عن الزهري أخبرني عبيد الله بن عبد الله بن عتبة بن مسعود أن
بينما نحن عند رسول الله ﷺ إذ قام رجل من الأعراب فقال يا رسول الله اقض لي بكتاب الله فقام خصمه فقال صدق يا رسول الله اقض له بكتاب الله وأذن لي فقال له النبي ﷺ قل فقال إن ابني كان عسيفا على هذا والعسيف الأجير فزنى بامرأته فأخبروني أن على ابني الرجم فافتديت منه بمائة من الغنم ووليدة ثم سألت أهل العلم فأخبروني أن على امرأته الرجم وأنما على ابني جلد مائة وتغريب عام فقال والذي نفسي بيده لأقضين بينكما بكتاب الله أما الوليدة والغنم فردوها وأما ابنك فعليه جلد مائة وتغريب عام وأما أنت يا أنيس لرجل من أسلم فاغد على امرأة هذا فإن اعترفت فارجمها فغدا عليها أنيس فاعترفت فرجمها
