An Arabi pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ upon Islam, then he was struck by a fever. He said, "Release me from my pledge."The Messenger refused.He came again and said, "Release me from my pledge."The Messenger refused.So he left, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Madinah is like a bellows. It expels its impurities and its goodness shines forth."
حدثنا عبد الله بن مسلمة عن مالك عن محمد بن المنكدر
أن أعرابيا بايع رسول الله ﷺ على الإسلام فأصابه وعك فقال أقلني بيعتي فأبى ثم جاءه فقال أقلني بيعتي فأبى فخرج فقال رسول الله ﷺ المدينة كالكير تنفي خبثها وينصع طيبها
