It reached the Prophet ﷺ that one of his companions had freed a slave of his to take effect after his death, and he had no other property besides him. So the Prophet ﷺ sold the slave for eight hundred dirhams and then sent the proceeds to him.
حدثنا ابن نمير حدثنا محمد بن بشر حدثنا إسماعيل حدثنا سلمة بن كهيل عن عطاء
بلغ النبي ﷺ أن رجلا من أصحابه أعتق غلاما له عن دبر لم يكن له مال غيره فباعه بثمان مائة درهم ثم أرسل بثمنه إليه
