The matter of mutual cursing was mentioned in the presence of the Prophet ﷺ, and Asim bin Adi made a remark about it, then he left.A man from his people came to him complaining that he had found another man with his wife. Asim said, "I have only been tested with this because of what I said."He took the man to the Prophet ﷺ, and the man informed him of the state in which he had found his wife. This husband was sallow in complexion, slight of build, and had straight hair, while the man he accused of being with his wife was dark, sturdy, and full-bodied.The Prophet ﷺ said, "O Allah, make it clear."She gave birth to a child resembling the man whom her husband had said he found with her. So the Prophet ﷺ had them perform the mutual cursing.A man in the gathering said to Ibn Abbas, "Is she the one about whom the Prophet ﷺ said, 'If I were to stone anyone without evidence, I would have stoned this woman'?"Ibn Abbas replied, "No. That was a different woman, one who used to display immorality openly while professing Islam."

ذكر التلاعن عند النبي ﷺ فقال عاصم بن عدي في ذلك قولا ثم انصرف وأتاه رجل من قومه يشكو أنه وجد مع أهله رجلا فقال عاصم ما ابتليت بهذا إلا لقولي فذهب به إلى النبي ﷺ فأخبره بالذي وجد عليه امرأته وكان ذلك الرجل مصفرا قليل اللحم سبط الشعر وكان الذي ادعى عليه أنه وجده عند أهله آدم خدلا كثير اللحم فقال النبي ﷺ اللهم بين فوضعت شبيها بالرجل الذي ذكر زوجها أنه وجده عندها فلاعن النبي ﷺ بينهما فقال رجل لابن عباس في المجلس هي التي قال النبي ﷺ لو رجمت أحدا بغير بينة رجمت هذه فقال لا تلك امرأة كانت تظهر في الإسلام السوء
