Umar said, "I fear that a long time may pass over the people until someone will say, 'We do not find stoning in the Book of Allah,' and they will go astray by abandoning an obligation that Allah revealed. Indeed, stoning is a binding duty upon anyone who commits adultery while married, when the evidence is established, or there is pregnancy, or a confession."Sufyan said, "This is how I memorized it.""Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ carried out stoning, and we carried it out after him."
حدثنا علي بن عبد الله حدثنا سفيان عن الزهري عن عبيد الله
قال عمر لقد خشيت أن يطول بالناس زمان حتى يقول قائل لا نجد الرجم في كتاب الله فيضلوا بترك فريضة أنزلها الله ألا وإن الرجم حق على من زنى وقد أحصن إذا قامت البينة أو كان الحبل أو الاعتراف قال سفيان كذا حفظت ألا وقد رجم رسول الله ﷺ ورجمنا بعده
