A Jewish man and a Jewish woman who had committed adultery together were brought before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He asked them, "What do you find in your Book?"They replied, "Our rabbis introduced blackening the face and public humiliation."Abdullah bin Salam said, "Messenger of Allah, call for the Torah."It was brought, and one of them placed his hand over the verse of stoning and began reading what was before it and what was after it. Ibn Salam said to him, "Lift your hand." When he did, the verse of stoning was right beneath his hand.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then ordered that the two be stoned, and they were stoned.Ibn Umar said, "They were stoned near the paved area, and I saw the Jewish man leaning over her to shield her."
حدثنا محمد بن عثمان بن كرامة حدثنا خالد بن مخلد عن سليمان حدثني عبد الله بن دينار
أتي رسول الله ﷺ بيهودي ويهودية قد أحدثا جميعا فقال لهم ما تجدون في كتابكم قالوا إن أحبارنا أحدثوا تحميم الوجه والتجبيه قال عبد الله بن سلام ادعهم يا رسول الله بالتوراة فأتي بها فوضع أحدهم يده على آية الرجم وجعل يقرأ ما قبلها وما بعدها فقال له ابن سلام ارفع يدك فإذا آية الرجم تحت يده فأمر بهما رسول الله ﷺ فرجما قال ابن عمر فرجما عند البلاط فرأيت اليهودي أجنأ عليها
