The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "Allah forbids you from swearing by your fathers."Umar said, "By Allah, I have not sworn by them since I heard the Prophet ﷺ mention this, neither on my own behalf nor citing it from another."Mujahid said, regarding "or some remnant of knowledge", that it means transmitting knowledge.Aqeel, Zubaydi, and Ishaq al-Kalbi corroborated this from Zuhri.Ibn Uyayna and Muamar narrated from Zuhri, from Salim, from Ibn Umar, that the Prophet ﷺ heard Umar.
حدثنا سعيد بن عفير حدثنا ابن وهب عن يونس عن ابن شهاب قال قال سالم قال ابن عمر سمعت
