Ayesha reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was bewitched, to the point that he would imagine he had done something when he had not actually done it. He prayed to his Lord, then said, "Did you realize that Allah has answered me concerning what I asked Him about?"Ayesha asked, "What is that, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "Two men came to me. One sat at my head and the other at my feet. One of them said to his companion, 'What is the man's ailment?'The other answered, 'He has been bewitched.'He asked, 'Who bewitched him?'He replied, 'Labid bin al-Asam.'He asked, 'With what?'He answered, 'With a comb, hair from combing, and the spathe of a male date palm.'He asked, 'Where is it?'He replied, 'In Dharwan.' Dharwan is a well belonging to Banu Zurayq."Ayesha said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went to it, then returned to Ayesha and said, 'By Allah, its water looked as though it were an infusion of henna, and its palm trees were like the heads of devils.'"She continued, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and informed her about the well. I said, 'Messenger of Allah, why did you not bring it out?'He replied, 'As for me, Allah has cured me, and I disliked stirring up evil among the people.'"Isa bin Yunus and Layth bin Saad added, narrating from Hisham from his father from Ayesha, who said, "The Prophet ﷺ was bewitched, so he prayed and prayed," and he continued the hadith.
