I was riding behind the Prophet ﷺ when he said, "Muaz."I replied, "At your service, ready to obey."He repeated this three times, then asked, "Do you know what right Allah has over His servants?"I said, "No."He said, "Allah's right over His servants is that they worship Him and associate nothing with Him."He rode on for a while, then said, "Muaz."I replied, "At your service, ready to obey."He asked, "Do you know what right the servants have over Allah when they do that? It is that He will not punish them."Hudbah narrated to us, Hammam narrated to us, Qatada narrated to us from Anas, from Muaz, with this report.
حدثنا موسى بن إسماعيل حدثنا همام عن قتادة عن أنس
أنا رديف النبي ﷺ فقال يا معاذ قلت لبيك وسعديك ثم قال مثله ثلاثا هل تدري ما حق الله على العباد قلت لا قال حق الله على العباد أن يعبدوه ولا يشركوا به شيئا ثم سار ساعة فقال يا معاذ قلت لبيك وسعديك قال هل تدري ما حق العباد على الله إذا فعلوا ذلك أن لا يعذبهم حدثنا هدبة حدثنا همام حدثنا قتادة عن أنس عن معاذ بهذا
