One day, while the Prophet ﷺ was distributing something, Dhul-Khuwaysirah, a man from Banu Tamim, said, "Messenger of Allah, be just."The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Woe to you. Who would be just if I were not just?"Umar said, "Allow me to strike off his neck."The Prophet ﷺ said, "No. He has companions whose prayer would make any of you think little of his own prayer, and whose fasting would make him think little of his own fasting. They will pass through the religion as an arrow passes through its prey. One looks at the arrowhead and finds nothing on it, then looks at the shaft-binding and finds nothing on it, then looks at the shaft and finds nothing on it, then looks at the feathers and finds nothing on them, for the arrow has gone clean through, outstripping the dung and the blood. They will appear at a time of division among the people. Their sign will be a man with one of his arms like a woman's breast, or like a lump of flesh that quivers."Abu Saeed said, "I bear witness that I heard this from the Prophet ﷺ, and I bear witness that I was with Ali when he fought them. The man was searched for among the slain and was brought forward, exactly matching the description the Prophet ﷺ had given."
حدثني عبد الرحمن بن إبراهيم حدثنا الوليد عن الأوزاعي عن الزهري عن أبي سلمة والضحاك
بينا النبي ﷺ يقسم ذات يوم قسما فقال ذو الخويصرة رجل من بني تميم يا رسول الله اعدل قال ويلك من يعدل إذا لم أعدل فقال عمر ائذن لي فلأضرب عنقه قال لا إن له أصحابا يحقر أحدكم صلاته مع صلاتهم وصيامه مع صيامهم يمرقون من الدين كمروق السهم من الرمية ينظر إلى نصله فلا يوجد فيه شيء ثم ينظر إلى رصافه فلا يوجد فيه شيء ثم ينظر إلى نضيه فلا يوجد فيه شيء ثم ينظر إلى قذذه فلا يوجد فيه شيء قد سبق الفرث والدم يخرجون على حين فرقة من الناس آيتهم رجل إحدى يديه مثل ثدي المرأة أو مثل البضعة تدردر قال أبو سعيد أشهد لسمعته من النبي ﷺ وأشهد أني كنت مع علي حين قاتلهم فالتمس في القتلى فأتي به على النعت الذي نعت النبي ﷺ
