In his storytelling, he would mention the Prophet ﷺ and say, "A brother of yours speaks no indecent words," meaning by this Ibn Rawahah, who said,"Among us is the Messenger of Allah, reciting His Book when the radiant light of dawn breaks forth. He showed us guidance after blindness, so our hearts are certain that what he says will come to pass. He spends the night with his side parted from his bed, when sleep weighs heavily upon the disbelievers in their resting places."Aqeel followed him in this narration from Zuhri. Zubaydi narrated it from Zuhri, from Saeed and Araj, from Abu Hurairah.
حدثنا أصبغ قال أخبرني عبد الله بن وهب قال أخبرني يونس عن ابن شهاب أن الهيثم بن أبي سنان أخبره أنه سمع
في قصصه يذكر النبي ﷺ يقول إن أخا لكم لا يقول الرفث يعني بذاك ابن رواحة قال وفينا رسول الله يتلو كتابه إذا انشق معروف من الفجر ساطع أرانا الهدى بعد العمى فقلوبنا به موقنات أن ما قال واقع يبيت يجافي جنبه عن فراشه إذا استثقلت بالكافرين المضاجع تابعه عقيل عن الزهري وقال الزبيدي عن الزهري عن سعيد والأعرج عن أبي هريرة
