Hassan bin Thabit asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for permission to satirize the polytheists.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "But what about my lineage, since I share it with them?"Hassan replied, "I will draw you out from among them as a hair is drawn out from dough."Hisham bin Urwa reported from his father, who said, "I began to revile Hassan in the presence of Ayesha, but she said, 'Do not revile him, for he used to defend the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.'"
حدثنا محمد حدثنا عبدة أخبرنا هشام بن عروة عن أبيه
استأذن حسان بن ثابت رسول الله ﷺ في هجاء المشركين فقال رسول الله ﷺ فكيف بنسبي فقال حسان لأسلنك منهم كما تسل الشعرة من العجين وعن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه قال ذهبت أسب حسان عند عائشة فقالت لا تسبه فإنه كان ينافح عن رسول الله ﷺ
